Statue of limitations on owing a bill

Is there an attorney that can please tell me what the statue of limitations are for placing an ad in the yellow pages of a telephone book and not paying because of unsatisfactory work in the ad.The phone book is trying to sue me for non payment but I havent heard from thier attorney since he last contacted me in December of 2009 demanding payment in full. The Attorney said I had 30 days to respond but I never did. Final payment of the ad was due in May of 2009. I live in the Common Wealth of Virginia.
